The Arizona Cancer Center strives to join the community in continuing education and outreach. As part of our service to the community, the Arizona Cancer Center is pleased to offer a variety of educational and social events throughout the year.

Better Than Ever is a grass-roots effort by the Arizona Cancer Center designed to encourage participants to make exercise a regular part of life. In exchange for help training for a walking, running or cycling race, participants help the Arizona Cancer Center fight cancer by raising vital funds for women’s cancer research and prevention. Since 2000, more than 2,600 participants have funded $1.3 million in research grants. Participants can cross the finish line knowing that they made a difference in their lives and in the fight against cancer.

The Arizona Cancer Center offers free community lecture series in Green Valley, Oro Valley and Tucson. The lectures, presented by world-class experts who work in cancer research and treatment at the Arizona Cancer Center, aim to bring you pertinent information about the latest in cancer prevention, research, diagnosis and treatment. The lectures are free and open to all interested parties.

¡Vida! Breast Cancer Educational Series was a free monthly breast cancer health educational series offered to patients, their families and primary care providers via simultaneous statewide teleconferencing in both English and Spanish. You can now watch the videos online or on DVDs.

The Arizona Cancer Center opens its doors each year and invites the public to take a glimpse into the workings of the research driving the future of cancer prevention, treatment and cure. Discovering Science at the Center 2009 will be held on Saturday, September 26.
- The Arizona Cancer Center's Skin Cancer Institute offers a wide variety of outreach and education programs for the community, for parents and teachers, for educators and for health care providers.
