Citrus Cooler

6  cups cold water
4  cups fresh orange juice (about 10 oranges)
1  cup fresh lime juice (about 6 limes)
2/3  cup sugar
1/4  cup cranberry juice
20  lime slices (optional)

Combine first 6 ingredients in a pitcher, stirring until sugar dissolves. Chill. Serve over ice; garnish with lime slices, if desired.

Yield: 10 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

Orange-banana smoothie

 

1 1/4  cups calcium-fortified orange juice
1 1/4  cups frozen mixed berries
1  cup sliced ripe banana
1/2  cup vanilla fat-free yogurt
1  tablespoon sugar (or to taste)

Combine all ingredients in a blender; process until smooth. If you prefer a tart taste, omit the sugar.

Yield: 3 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

Easy Fruit Spritzers

 

Combine equal amounts of fruit juice and lemon- or lime-flavored sparkling water. Serve over ice. Orange juice and regular grape juice are not recommended, but you are welcome to try them.

Some ideas include:
Apple juice
Cranberry juice (including Cranapple, CranGrape, CranRaspberry)
White Cranberry juice, all flavors
White Grape Juice
Pink or yellow lemonade
Garnish with lemon or lime slices, if desired

Sparkling Fruit Punch

2 cups apple juice
2 (6-ounce) cans pineapple juice
1 (12-ounce) can thawed cranberry juice concentrate, undiluted
1 (6-ounce) can thawed orange juice concentrate, undiluted

2 Tb lime juice
4 cups club soda, chilled

Combine first 4 ingredients; stir until blended. Add soda just before serving. Serve over ice.

Yield: 10 servings (serving size: about 1 cup)
