In 1986, a small group of far sighted Phoenix women organized a dinner and auction. The event raised more than $13,000 for cancer research and launched a volunteer organization called Phoenix Friends of the Arizona Cancer Center. The Phoenix Friends have raised more than $5 million to support the Arizona Cancer Center’s work throughout Arizona.
