A Message from the Director of the Arizona Cancer Center
“This year in the United States alone, more than half a million people will die from cancer, and another one point three million will be diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of death among people under the age of 85.
These are alarming statistics, but we can do something about the cancer problem. The Arizona Cancer Center is the leader in preventing and curing cancer. We’re convinced that most, if not all, cancers can be prevented.
But for those that are not, patients deserve the absolute best individualized treatments possible. We provide specialized care to each patient through our laboratory, clinical and population-based research, through our outreach, education and information programs, and most importantly, by offering the most up-to-date, leading edge clinical care.
To accomplish our mission, we’re building women’s and men’s cancer centers in both Tucson and Phoenix metropolitan areas. These centers will provide the highest level of cancer prevention and treatment services. At the same time, they will conduct world-renowned research into what causes cancer and how it progresses.
This is an exciting time for us because we’re launching our annual fund campaign. This will enable us to continue to find ways to prevent and cure cancer. By contributing to the Arizona Cancer Center, you can be an important part of helping us to better understand, prevent and treat this disease.
This web site offers you current information on women’s cancers and men’s cancers, as well as digestive tract, skin, and colon cancer, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Please browse through our site and be sure to let us if you have any questions about cancer. We’re here to help. Thank You.”
