With its numerous academics programs, the Arizona Cancer Center is training the next generation of cancer clinicians and researchers.
- The goal of the Breast Cancer Disparities Post-Baccalaureate Training Program is to train individuals in the field of breast cancer health disparities so they become experts in the molecular epidemiology of breast cancer as it pertains to Hispanics of Mexican descent.
- The Cancer Biology Graduate Interdisciplinary Program introduces students to knowledge derived from research in the production, properties and therapy of cancer and assures that students have the necessary background to enable them to do original research.
- The Cancer Prevention and Control Postdoctoral Fellowship Training Program seeks to develop and implement hypothesis-driven translational and basic science research studies related to cancer prevention and control.
- Students in the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Training Program learn about and understand the biology and treatment principles of cancer and blood diseases as well as how to properly conduct research and interpret its findings.
- The University of Arizona College of Medicine's Residency Program in Radiation Oncology was established in 1977 and since that time has graduated more than 55 radiation oncologists who have gone on to both academic and private practice careers.
