The Arizona Cancer Center's GEMSS is one component of the University of Arizona BIO5 Institute’s Mammalian Functional Genomics Facility. Service leaders are Tom Doetschman, Ph.D., Director, and Phil Sanford, Ph.D., Supervisor.
The GEMSS provides cancer researchers with unique mouse models of human cancer. These mice have proven to be useful for obtaining a better understanding of human cancers, and they provide animal subjects for pre-testing new therapeutic approaches to cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and cure.
