- Only a fraction of the total effort in biometry
- Catalyze development of independent funding,
Plus the essential biostatistical role in Cancer Center studies
- Successful Biometry Shared Service as essential to Cancer Center studies:
- Planning, design, study operation
- Analysis, interpretation, data presentation
Future Plans
- Ensure adequate expertise available to provide full support for the wide range of Biometry services required to maintain the highest quality of cancer research activities.
- Respond to Arizona Cancer Center initiatives - e.g.,
- Gene microarray & proteomics
(in collaboration with Bioinformatics Shared Service)
- Imaging
- Enhanced clinical trials activity
(targeted treatment, prevention, translational research)
Planned Recruitments
- Faculty-level statistician
- Masters-level biostatistician to support Biometry Cores of various Program Projects that have separate Biometry funding
- Senior database specialist to work as a liaison with investigators and biostatisticians to facilitate data analyses and automate analysis tasks
