Mission, Objectives & Services The Analytical Core Shared Service (ACSS) is located in room 4965 of the Arizona Cancer Center (AZCC). It is jointly directed by Drs. Sherry Chow and Steven Stratton. The Core provides analytical services to help assess drug or nutrient exposure and disposition, and to monitor the levels of endogenous biochemicals as surrogate biological effect markers, all of which are critically important to the development and evaluation of innovative pharmacological and nutritional approaches to treating and preventing cancer. Providing AZCC Investigators with a dedicated facility and expertise in developing and implementing analytical procedures, designing sample collection schedules, developing proper sample handling and storage conditions, performing quantitative analysis of drug/chemical levels, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic data interpretation and analysis, is the primary objective of the Core.

The Arizona Cancer Center, the state’s premier National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. With primary locations at the University of Arizona in Tucson and the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center in Scottsdale, the Center has more than a dozen research and education offices distributed throughout the state and 250 physician and scientist members working to prevent and cure cancer. |
