Director's Circle

Cancer touches everyone, and the Director’s Circle is committed to helping in the fight against this disease. Director’s Circle members are dedicated to supporting our Center’s most immediate and critical needs.

The Arizona Cancer Center is one of only 39 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States.

Director’s Circle members join the dedicated physicians and scientists at the Center in their mission to prevent and cure cancer.

Membership Information

Members of the Director’s Circle contribute an annual minimum donation of $1,000*. These contributions will be immediately available to fund promising new research leads and the most urgent needs of the Arizona Cancer Center. While endowments ensure the future health of the Center and its programming, immediately accessible dollars allow a research institution to be responsive and creative in its approach to cancer prevention, control, and treatment.

*Presidents Club members may designate all or part of their annual payment to the Director’s Circle.

Dr. David S. Alberts
Director of the Arizona Cancer Center

Together we can celebrate the many achievements made in cancer prevention, control, and treatment over the last 30 years by the Center.  We also renew our commitment to continue to pursue excellence in these same areas until our mission to prevent and cure cancer comes to fruition.  Part of this commitment is the support of the Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition (AZCCC), which includes more than 50 statewide organizations and 100 individuals.

The AZ CCC has developed Arizona 's first comprehensive plan to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality in the state. The plan was unveiled in Tucson during a conference on Monday, December 5, 2005, at the Arizona Cancer Center where experts discussed the major elements of the plan, including cancer prevention, early detection and screening, diagnosis and treatment, quality of life, research, and disparities.

The plan provides a framework for cancer prevention and control activities within our state. The next steps for the plan's implementation include reconvening the committees that developed the plan to begin work on its 15 identified priorities.

Our Arizona Cancer Center is Arizona 's first National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center has more than a dozen research and education offices distributed throughout the state.

Thank you for your continued support of our Center!

Warm regards,
Dave Alberts
